Episode 60 – Nina Barbuto

This week on WOTF, it’s Nina Barbuto, founder of Assemble (www.assemblepgh.org) the non-profit that is making waves as it brings the people of Garfield hands-on experiences in the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. You may have heard a lot about STEM programming, but Nina has taking things a step further by adding “Art” to the mix.

Nina is a life-long creator, and has become a real forward thinking educator and difference maker. She sees assemble as an on-ramp to the world of STEAM opportunities for kids and adults, and a way for people to get an introduction to programs in the city that can have a real impact not just on their neighborhood and lives, but on the city and the community as a whole. Also, it sounds like a ton of fun.
